What is Aria Guitars?
Aria Guitars, a renowned brand in the musical instrument industry, was founded in 1956 in Japan by Shiro Arai, when he himself struggled to find local vendors of nylon string for his classical guitar. Starting with the importation for strings, it didn't take long before they began manufacturing their own instruments. Aria quickly gained recognition for its high-quality guitars, which were crafted with meticulous attention to detail and a deep respect for traditional luthiery.
The brand gained significant popularity in the 1970s and 1980s with the introduction of the Aria Pro II line, which became famous for offering professional-grade electric guitars at affordable prices. These guitars were among the first to incorporate features like active electronics. Eventually Aria Pro II PE guitars were seen used by famous musicians like Neal Schon of Journey, Andy Summers of the Police and Gerry Cott of Boomtown Rats. Continuing their run for fame in the late 70s they released the Aria Pro II SB (Super Bass) which quickly became a big hit for players such as Cliff Burton from Metallica, John Taylor from Duran Duran and Cronos from Venom.
